Astoria Hot Springs Garners Silver in Two Best of Jackson Hole Categories

A Note of Gratitude from Paige

With my background in education and a deep passion for learning, it had long been a dream of mine to expand Astoria beyond hot springs soaking — to offer programming centered on family-friendly education and wellness.

That’s why I was so pleasantly surprised — and incredibly honored — when Astoria was awarded a silver medal in the Best of Jackson Hole for both “Family-Friendly Activity” and “Health/Fitness Center.” This recognition is especially meaningful to me.

Growing up, my family and friends always referred to the original Astoria Hot Springs simply as “the pool.” We’d pile into the car or bus to “go down to the pool,” where we’d spend hours connecting with other community members, splashing in the warm water, and leaving feeling both relaxed and recharged (and maybe a little sugar-fueled from the retro candy jars!).

It’s where I first learned to swim — so it fills my heart to know that Astoria has provided this critical opportunity to dozens of families.  A friend even recently told me swimming lessons “are one of the best parts of their family activities since they are at Astoria.” And I’m proud we are expanding these offerings to serve more families in 2025.

And, like most in Jackson, while I’m drawn to the big days in the mountains that fill my soul (and ache my aging body), I’m also so humbled to have Astoria recognized as a place where we can recharge our bodies and our souls. Where we can soak in our mineral-rich waters, practice yoga and meditation, and find solace at a very special place on a very special bend of the Snake River. Thank you all for affirming that our work is changing lives. We hope you’ll continue to support all these wonderful programs at Astoria!

With deepest gratitude,

Paige Byron, Executive Director
