Whoa! What an afternoon, Sept. 26.
Amplify Astoria brought music, soaking, dancing and an unmistakable spirit of joy to the hot springs — and judging by the collective good vibes, everyone was feeling it.
For a few magical hours, the Snake River Canyon became a little slice of the late-summer-of-love. With The Deadlocks, John Kadlecik, Duane Betts and Jeremy Hoenig providing an incredible soundtrack, we were transported, quite literally, thanks to a real-live VW bus, to the days when the Dead were on the road and peace, love, and happiness were priorities.
The music was something special. The talent of these musicians was truly treasured, and we like to think Jerry, Bob, Phil and the rest of the crew would have been proud.
But the good times in the Springs had a purpose.
Amplify Astoria is a fundraiser for Astoria’s Access Fund, which helps make the hot springs and wellness programs more accessible to people who might otherwise not be able to afford them. Every ticket, beer, cocktail, drink and even cosmic cookie purchased during the event helped create those opportunities.
That’s what we love about Astoria: the good times can ripple outward.
The joy we shared at Amplify is the kind of connection we hope the hot springs and future park will continue to create—a place where people can come together, find a little peace, soak up some goodness, and feel like they belong.
Thank you to everyone who came out, danced, soaked, listened, laughed, supported the Access Fund and helped make Amplify Astoria so memorable.
The music may have stopped, but the good vibes, and the good work, keep rolling.
Thanks to everyone who helped make this event including sponsors and partners like Westy’s LLC, Kilter Physical Therapy & Sports Performance, DMI Holdco, Vibrant Initiatives, Southern Hogspitality, Snake River Brewing, Noso Patches, and staff and volunteers!
