Redefining Wellness Discussion
November 16, 2024 @ 9:30 am - 12:45 pm
PRESENTATION – DISCUSSION – HOT SPRINGS SOAK
As we deepen our understanding of the links between physical and mental health, we continue to struggle as a society with an obsessive focus on body weight as the main indicator of health. Is there a better way to move forward? How can we incorporate our relationship with food, physical movement, and our bodies for increased health and well-being? How do we let go of unhelpful thoughts around body weight/shape/size and shift our focus toward how we care for ourselves more holistically?
This is the focus of the monthly Redefining Wellness group facilitated by Mary Ryan, therapist and dietitian at the Mental Wellness Collaborative. The group provides a safe space (free of charge) to explore the many aspects of our lives that contribute to our physical and mental health.
Join us on November 16, 2024, for a special Redefining Wellness event at Astoria. Tanya Mark, local health and wellbeing coach, intuitive eating counselor, and body-positive facilitator, will join Mary Ryan to facilitate a conversation on self-love. It is through a practice of self-love that we move away from self-criticism towards a more peaceful relationship with ourselves. With self-love, we treat our bodies with the honor they deserve for the brilliant work they do to keep us alive. The event will begin with Mary and Tanya’s brief presentation, an interactive discussion, and then a complimentary soak.
Space is limited, so email carolyn@astoriapark.org to sign up for free today!
Discussion: 9:30a-11a in the Johnny Counts Cabin, complimentary hot springs soak from 11a-12:45p
