About JoJo Hermann:

John “JoJo” Hermann is a prominent American singer, musician, and songwriter, recognized for his contributions to the band Widespread Panic.

Hermann started his musical journey playing piano in the local band Beanland alongside guitarist George McConnell. His talent caught attention when he was heard playing an old upright piano at the Hoka Club in Oxford. Following extensive tours across the Southeast with Beanland, Hermann joined Widespread Panic based in Athens, Georgia in 1992. He remains a key member, known for his skills on keyboard and organ, as well as his distinctive lead vocals covering New Orleans jazz, blues, and gospel-inspired originals.

Hermann draws inspiration from artists like Professor Longhair, Otis Spann, Junior Kimbrough, and Otha Turner. Over the years, he has engaged in various side projects, notably JoJo and His Mojo Mardi Gras Band, and collaborated with Luther and Cody Dickinson from the North Mississippi Allstars.

In addition to his work with Widespread Panic, Hermann has released several solo albums: “Smiling Assassin” (2001), “Defector” (2003), “Just Ain’t Right” (2004), and the 2012 album “Larry Brown Amen” under the moniker The Missing Cats.

Currently, Hermann resides in Franklin, Tennessee with his wife and two daughters.
