JACKSON HOLE, Wyo. –– Astoria Park Conservancy and Snake River Sporting Club Improvement Service District (SRSC ISD) are pleased to announce that they have reached a mutually agreeable resolution of their dispute related to the allocation of costs incurred by the SRSC ISD as a result of the historic Astoria “Red Bridge” being hit by a truck in December 2022.
The agreement resolves a matter that has been ongoing and reflects both organizations’ commitment to working collaboratively and constructively in the best interests of the broader community.
“Many members of our community have been aware of the ongoing dispute surrounding the bridge replacement,” said Dr. Quinn McColly, Executive Director of Astoria Park Conservancy. “We are pleased to report that the litigation has been resolved. Working closely with our board of directors and the Snake River Sporting Club Improvement Service District, we reached an agreement that is fair and equitable to both parties.”
The bridge serves as an important connection point in the area, and both organizations recognize the value of maintaining positive relationships among neighbors, partners and community stakeholders. While the terms of the agreement will remain confidential, the resolution allows both parties to focus their time and resources on their respective missions and long-term priorities.
Astoria Park Conservancy will continue its work to provide equitable access to natural resources for the education, well-being and sense of belonging for all through its hot springs, educational programming, conservation initiatives and development of the future 95-acre park.
Snake River Sporting Club remains committed to providing world-class lodging and private residences, exceptional recreation and dining experiences and thoughtful stewardship of the surrounding landscape while contributing to the vitality of the Jackson Hole community.
“This resolution represents an opportunity to move forward together,” said Snake River Sporting Club’s ISD Board Member Joe Scott. “We are grateful for the collaborative efforts that brought us to this point and look forward to a positive path ahead.”
